Wildcat Creek MX sits on 100 acres of old farmland just outside Rossville, Indiana, and it started as nothing more than a backyard practice track for one family and their friends.

From Backyard Track to Indiana’s Premier Facility

The Knop family founded Wildcat Creek MX in late 2000. The reasoning was simple — Indiana had few places where motocross could be truly enjoyed the way it deserved to be. So the Knops built their own, starting it as a back yard play and practice track for themselves and friends who shared the same itch to ride.

That backyard track didn’t stay small for long. Over the years it grew into one of the Midwest’s finest motocross facilities, and the Knop family has owned and operated it ever since, now more than two decades in.

Built on the Land Itself

The property is bordered by a scenic creek and hardwood forest, and the terrain does a lot of the track’s work for it. Dark, loamy soil keeps dust to a minimum, while long straightaways, jumps, step-ups, step-downs, and a natural ravine give the layout real variety. A wide spectator tunnel near the finish line lets fans get close to the action without stepping onto the course.

Located just 15 minutes from Interstate 65 near Lafayette, and about a 25-minute drive east of Kokomo, the track’s location has made it an easy stop for riders across west-central Indiana.

A Track for Every Kind of Rider

Wildcat Creek MX has built its reputation on variety. The schedule includes Loretta Lynn area qualifiers, AMA-sanctioned races, vintage motocross classes for classic bike enthusiasts, open practice days, and an annual straight rhythm pit bike race that draws its own dedicated crowd.

The track has also become a regular stop for the Midwest Vintage Motocross series, pulling in machines from the ’70s and ’80s alongside modern bikes — a rare mix that keeps generations of riders coming back to the same 100 acres where it all started as a backyard project.
